No Angel in Vegas

My co-worker was back at work today after her weekend junket to Vegas. Sadly she didn't manage to spot that hottie, Criss Angel to get me a picture. I guess he was too busy levitating or astonishing people elsewhere this weekend.

She said they had a great time. Spent way too much money, and did loads and loads of walking! They loved the Cirque's "O" show and were really impressed with Mandolay Bay, where they stayed. She also mentioned that they learned one thing that could have saved them a lot of footsteps. While they were there, they wanted to check out all the different casinos to take in the sights, but like she said, apart from the different themes, they're pretty much really all the same. One casino looks like another when you're inside them, and when I think about it, I would have to agree with her there. You have your slots, and gaming tables. Just the decor may be different, but how much of the decor do you see when you're inside really? Her way of thinking on this has me thinking whenever I go there, I won't be trekking inside every one of the gobs of casinos there. Sure I'll venture out and check out the different structures of the buildings themselves, but I'll save my tootsies from exploring each one individually inside the actual casinos.

Vegas, baby!

I wonder how my co-worker is making out in Vegas this weekend. They left on Thursday and come home tomorrow. I can't wait to hear all about it on Monday. She promised me that she was going to keep a close eye out for Criss Angel to take pictures for me. I told her to get a video of him telling me to come visit him sometime! I'd be there in a flash! He's so hot! I can't remember the name of the hotel they're staying at, but she said it was right next door to the Luxor, where Criss is. He's so hot!

This girl is so lucky too. Her hubby works as a manager for an upscale restaurant in Niagara Falls, and his boss is going to pay for them to go to dinner at a couple restaurants there to observe and take notes. He gets to do that whenever they go away. So she was picking out the restaurants to go to, and she wanted to try one of the winners from Hell's Kitchen, but then she figured they'd go somewhere else, because apparently they are a bit away from the main area. And besides, they're going to New York City next month, so they're going to go to Gordon Ramsey's restaurant "At The London" instead. See, she's a very lucky girl!

They were also going to see Cirque du Soleil's "O" while they're there. I'm so jealous! I love the Cirque, and I would love to see the shows that play in Vegas. One day! And she said her and her friend that's also going with them were going to try to talk their hubbies into letting them head over to Rio Las Vegas and take in a Chippendales show. Again, I'm jealous! Oh well, I'm just hoping she manages to run into Criss Angel and gets a good picture of that hottie for me! Did I mention I think he's hot? :-)

Lucky girl

One of my co-workers today was telling me of yet another trip she's taking to yet another place I want to go. She's already going to Vegas next month, which I was already envious of. Especially since they've got tickets to go see Cirque du Soliel's "O", which is going to be a must for me whenever I make it to Sin City myself.

Now today she was telling me they are doing another long weekend trip to New York City in November. Again, another place I want to go. She's so damned lucky though, because this trip is totally at no cost to them, just as it is every year. Her husband works for an upscale restaurant around here, and every year he goes to NYC for a convention, and while there, they are to go to some nice restaurants and take notes! They go with another couple, where the husband works for the same restaurant, so the girls make their annual shopping trip to Canal Street while the hubbies are at the convention. And of course they usually try to take in a show while they're there. This time they've purchased Wicked tickets. I wanted to see this show when it was in Toronto last year, but couldn't get tickets for the sold out performances. What a lucky girl she is. I'm so envious!

High up in Vegas

Last night when I was watching that hottie, Criss Angel, the Mind Freak, I was checking out his digs at the Luxor Hotel in Vegas. Definitely not your standard hotel room, that's for sure. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place, but I can't help but wonder if someone like him is going to be shooting a show there, which means he's going to be living there for the most part, why not buy a nice place of his own? Surely there are some pretty awesome Las Vegas Luxury Condos there to buy that would not only be a nice place to live, offer a little more privacy, and would make a great investment. There's a Trump Tower in Vegas too, and you know that place will be dripping with luxury! I would imagine that there are oodles of celebs that own prime real estate in Vegas. It's a happening place that just becomes more and more happening all the time. But then again, maybe Criss prefers having room service in the wee hours instead of having to make his own late night snack. It really doesn't matter anyway... he's still a hottie!

My brother called

Tonight my brother called. His call actually woke me up from my nap. I was kind of shocked at his call, since we had just talked on the weekend, but it seems he's on a bit of a mission. Now my brother is the king of discount, and will find any way possible to save a buck or two, and preferably more! When we talked on the weekend, he asked me if I booked my flight yet, to go back home this summer for my vacation. I told him I had been following the airline deals, and they didn't have any seat sales posted yet for when I will be travelling. I also told him I would probably end up paying about the same I did last year, which is about $700.00. Yeah, travel within Canada is ridiculous!

So tonight he calls and suggests that I check into booking a flight from here to Vegas, and then a flight from Vegas to Bellingham, Washington, which is about a 20 minute drive from where they are. Like he said, you can always manage to find a cheap flight to and from Vegas. Hm, what a concept! But I told him, Vegas is one place I've always wanted to go to, and I don't know if I could fly there without staying for a couple days. So he then suggests why don't I do that, and he'll send his wife down there to meet me. Us girls can have a little fun for a few days, and then head back to BC for the rest of my vacation. He's checked out flights, and it would save me about $200.00 in airfare costs. Now there's the added expense of lodging and spending money in Vegas for a few days, but we're talking Vegas, baby! I'm going to seriously consider this option. I don't really have anyone around these parts that would ever want to go there with me, so this really is an opportunity to see this exciting city. And it would make one hell of a vacation! Vegas and visiting my family all in one shot. Yeah, it's all good!

It's Vegas, Baby!

One place I've never been to is Las Vegas. So many people I know have been going there lately, and I have to say I'm a bit envious! I would love to go, maybe not so much for the gambling, as I work hard for my money, and can't justify feeding it into a machine with no guarantee of a reward in return. But I would love to go just to see the sights. The beautiful buildings there! It's like the whole world in one city with all those fancy buildings. And the shows! I'm a huge Cirque du Soleil fan, and I would love to go there to see their water show "O".

It seems a lot of people are moving to Vegas. New homes are readily available, as Las Vegas real estate sales are increasingly popular. It's all about location. Nice weather, beautiful homes with palm trees in your back yard, and loads of entertainment nearby. Yes, that's Vegas, baby! While I would probably never move there myself, I do hope to visit there sometime soon.
