Spider Pig was there!

Tonight we watched the season premier Simpson's show, and I got a good chuckle out of Bart's lines on the blackboard... "I will not wait another 20 years to make a movie", or something along those lines. Then, when the family all plunked down on the couch, there was Spider Pig on Homer's lap, and the music changed to the Spider Pig song. What a hoot! I love that show!

So we're watching along and Homer is jetting off with Mr. Burns in his private jet to Chicago, when all of a sudden my husband managed to hit the mute button on the remote, and the closed captioning kicked in, so we had to read Lionel Richie singing beer beer, beer beer! At first we didn't know what happened, but after me freaking out a bit, my husband realized which button he hit and un-muted the TV. I feel sorry for those people that have to read their TV shows. I couldn't imagine not hearing the different voices, especially the Simpson's voices. Just wouldn't be the same reading "A-ha!" instead of hearing Nelson say it. ;-)

Spider Pig!

Just got home from the Simpsons Movie, and we loved it! We sang the Spider Pig song all the way home! I loved how it started, with the Simpsons family at the movies watching Itchy and Scratchy, with Homer telling us all how stupid we were to pay to go see this movie. And the signs throughout the movie. Bart's lines on the chalkboard, "I will not download an illegal copy of this movie". Too funny!

So now to break the news to my husband that we went without him. Oh well, we'll definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out, so he'll get to see it at some point. D'oh!

D'oh! I'm so excited!

If you're a Simpsons Fan like I am, you can understand why I'm so excited! Tomorrow night I finally get to go see the movie of the summer! Yep, tomorrow night, that big pink donut is all mine! We're going to the Simpsons Movie people!

I was so sad that this movie came out the night before I had to get up early to catch my flight out west. I had too much to do that night and had to get up so early that I couldn't go. Then, when I got back, the friend that I had made a pact with to go see this movie with when we first heard that it was going to be coming to the theatres was sick all last week, and we still couldn't go. But we're finally going tomorrow night. My husband will be upset that he's not here to go with us, but if we wait until he comes back from the cottage, it may not be playing anymore. So he'll just have to wait until it comes out on DVD, and we'll most definitely be buying a copy of it, so he'll be sure to see it.
