Girls night out tomorrow!

Tomorrow night, my girlie friends and I are going for dinner, and my mouth is just watering thinking about it! We're going to this place that every Thursday night offers all you can eat mussels and half price martinis. Can you say mmmmm? They have the mussels prepared about four different ways; my favorite being the dish with the red sauce. This sauce is to die for! And half price martinis, what can I say about that? Half price martinis! 'Nuff said! My favorite is the plain old vermouth martini, just like James Bond. It's so cool, with a bit of a burn. Love that! So after all the work I've been doing here at home, plus going to work at my day job all day, I think I'm well deserving of a night out with my friends, and a couple of martinis sounds like a nice reward too! :-)

I got a gift today!

My friend, soul-sister and co-worker was off work last week on vacation. She didn't go away anywhere, but just worked around the yard, and did some shopping around the area. One day she took her mother and they spent the afternoon in Niagara on the lake, which is a cute little historic town not too far from here. They went shopping at all the neat little shops and having a nice lunch at a quaint little restaurant. Today she comes back to work and she has a gift bag with colored happy faces all over it and bright tissue paper poking out the top. She hands it to me, and says, "My mom sent you a gift." I thought for sure it was some sort of gag gift when I read the tag saying she had seen this and thought of me. Her mom and I are always kibitzing around whenever we see each other. So I open this gift and I'm totally shocked to find the most beautiful martini glass! I should have taken a picture. I'll have to do that, but anyway, in the meantime, it's blue, which is my favorite color for glassware, and it has a crackled finish in the lower part of the glass. It is absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn't believe that her mom bought it for me! She knows I like martinis, and she had bought a couple of glasses for my friend Kat and her dad, and picked this one up for me too. What a sweetheart! :-)

Friday! Yippee!

The old saying, Thank God it's Friday! How true that rings for me this week. It's been one hell of a week at work, with it being month end and beginning of the month, and today we were short one person at work, so that made it all the worse. But we made it! Thank goodness!

So, I got my Norwex goodies today, and this weekend I'll be putting them to the test. I'll let you know how things go with them.

We had a blast last night at our girls dinner. And the half price martinis were oh so yummy! Can't wait to to do it again! ;-) We ate mussels, prepared all different ways, because they were all you can eat, so we kept ordering them a different way. Our favorite was with a red sauce. We had bruschetta bread, and it was really good! I then ordered a steak sub, which was awesome and came with a ceasar salad. I was stuffed from all that food, but I ate every last bit of it! About 9pm a band came on and sang for us. They were really good. Did a mix of tunes from Johnny Cash to the Tragically Hip, so a good blend. We didn't go sing back up for them, but we told them next time we would! If one girl and I would have had a couple more martinis we probably would, just to embarrass another girl with us! Maybe next time!
