Pet Food Recall

If you are a pet owner -- dog or cat, you will want to check this out. I got this information from a forum I belong to.

An alert to all the dog and cat lovers here of the pet food recall (announced late Friday) of over 60 MILLION containers of canned and foil pack dog and cat food. The recall involves nearly 100 different brands -- all manufactured by a Canadian company called Menu Foods who contract manufactures for 17 of the 20 major retailers in the U.S. as well as for some larger and/or premium label foods. The food has been implicated in causing an unknown number of dogs and cats renal failure, some of which have died. Some of the labels/brands involved are:

Science Diet, Nutro, Iams, Eukanuba, Purina, PetSmart's "Authority", "Sophistacat" and "Award" labels, and the house brands carried by Target, Wal-mart, Safeway and Krogers.

Check out the website to see all the different brands and types of pet foods affected by this recall. I was totally amazed and shocked to see so very many different kinds. Thankfully, none of the dry foods that we feed our pets seem to be on this massive list. Here's a link to the website this person has so graciously put together for all of us pet lovers out here.
