Company's coming...

Today my mother in law was telling me that our nephew is coming to town tomorrow with his father to visit. They live about an eight hour drive away, and they're coming for a week. It's going to be nice to see them, but I'm a little afraid for my nephew as well. He's got some addiction problems that he's been working on for the past month or so, and seems to be doing pretty well so far. My worry is that he'll get together with some of his old buddies here and end up getting into those bad habits. I can only hope that the drug treatment centers weekly meetings and counseling sessions he's been attending have made him strong enough to resist the temptations that he could end up facing if he meets up with his friends. It's pretty sad to have to think this way. A person should be able to look up their old friends they went school with, when they come home for a visit, without a possibility of doing harm to themselves. It seems drugs are so widespread these days, and much harsher than sharing a joint or two with your pals like when I was young. These kids are into some really nasty stuff. It's scary, just plain old scary!

Sex, lies and drug addiction

I felt so sorry for this old man that came into the bank today. He's an elderly foreign man, that doesn't speak much English. His son was with him, and they were checking on a couple of accounts he has with us, that were joint with his daughter, as he spends a few months in his homeland each year, and she looks after his finances and bills and such while he's gone.

Well it appears that this daughter of his has gone off the edge and has managed to drag her poor father down with her. She's completely stripped his accounts and put them in overdraft to the maximum. She didn't pay any of his bills while he was away since the beginning of July, so he came home to a pile of collection letters and cut off notices. And now, she seems to have vanished out of town and they're trying to find her. She's somewhere out there, because she's been using the debit card to take money out when his pension cheques are deposited. Her brother found out that she's addicted to cocaine, and that's where all this money has gone -- to support her habit. He also heard that she's been stripping for money as well. They want to try and find her and get her into some sort of drug rehabilitation program. I know this girl from her coming to the bank, and she's a beautiful woman that used to be very responsible. It's terrible to hear of someone like that falling dependent on drugs like this and screwing up their lives. She's not only hurting herself, but her family too. How sad is it that drugs can make you steal from your own father like that. Her poor old father looked so sad today. It hurt to see him like that. I hope they find her and get her the help she needs.

Say no to drugs

It's so sad to see and hear of the drug addictions of so many young people in this day and age. I remember back when I was a teenager, for the most part the worst any of us in school ever did was smoke a little marijuana. Yes, there were a few that did a little of the more trippy type of drugs, but that was usually only once in awhile, like dropping acid for a concert or something like that. But nowadays, they're snorting cocaine, smoking crack and in the case of my nephew out west, he was shooting gack, or gak or however it's spelled. I don't even have a clue about this crap, but apparently it's some cheap street drug and it's highly addictive. ThankGod he managed to get some help and went to rehab, and it worked for him.

Help is very easy to get these days too, thankfully. There's a web site called 1800nodrugs, and they are a drug rehab referral company. They are a non-profit company and they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can help in finding the best drug or alcohol abuse treatment solution for you, or your loved one. Let's talk about drug addiction...

Drug addiction seems so rampant these days. So many young people are trying different drugs, and many of them are very addictive. I have a nephew that is battling drug addiction currently, and it's been a very rocky road, to say the least. He drinks and smokes marijuana regularly, has gone on benders of cocaine and crack, and has taken steroids on and off over the past few years.

I wish he'd check in for some sort of drug treatment to help him with his problems. Where he lives there really isn't any good rehab facilities near by. I've been checking out Stone Hawk, which is located in Michigan, and I wish he was able to go there. They take a holistic approach to drug treatment, by using saunas to sweat the toxins out of the body. I really like that idea. Then through counselling, they help the addict deal with their addictions and start their new drug free life. This to me sounds much better than treating addictions to illegal drugs by addiction and weening off of legal drugs. I think a natural approach is always better, don't you?

Good God! This is insane!

I'm sitting here at the computer tapping away and the news is on tv in the background. Something just caught my attention so I tuned in to what the newscaster was talking about. A video of a 17 year old kid and a friend of his in Watauga, Texas is having his two and five year old nephews smoke dope. What a couple of fucking idiots! Apparently the mother of the two little ones was at home, but sleeping at the time the video was being filmed. Well she needs a kick in the ass too in my opinion! She obviously knows that her brother is smoking pot in the house, because she'd smell it, and how could a completely sane mother let things like that happen around her little innocent kids? Bunch of losers! Some people just don't deserve to have kids!
